Title: How do your Kitties get along
Description: with each other

Jennifer - February 15, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
For those of you who have more than one kitty, how do they get along? Who likes each other and visa versa?

For us for the most part everyone gets along. The only trouble was when we introduced The Beeper's (Coco, Cody and Heidi) into the household. Hammie thought it was the end of the world and did quite a bit of smacking on them. I'm pretty sure it was because he was our baby for about 2 years and he knew he was no longer going to be. When Mandy joined though, everyone accepted her so well, even Hammie.
Cody and Coco always are snuggling together. Moly plays with everyone. Caleb and Hammie like to play together. Everyone likes to play with Mandy. Midnight does not play with anyone though, she's very introverted :lmao:
I think it's so intresting how they interact with each other. :)

Well, Jones & Sasha of course get along well and snuggle. They occassionally have a little spat, but it's rare.

Marley is kind of a loner. :duh: Sasha tolerates him for the most part, but he better not get too close to her. A few times a day she chases after him and he has to scream bloody murder, even though she's not even touching him. :rotfl:

Jones tolerates Marley a little better. They play, or at least Marley tries to play, sometimes. But most of the time, Marley is just annoying Jones and Jones gets angry and runs from him and hisses. :lmao:

Great topic

Smudgie gets along with pretty much everyone :luv2: ...he's top cat, but he can be a bit crusty. I never ever worry that he will lash out at any of the kittens...

Pebbles gets along with everyone, except Silkie. Pebbles loves Digger and loves to wash him. :luv2:

Silkie is my "feral girlie".. she gets along with everyone, but is always leery and a little "bitchie" at first. The only one she does not get along with is Pebbles... :wha: : Silkie washes Digger too :luv2: (Digger is one freakin clean cat) :lmao:

Digger... ya'll know him...end of story!! :kittyluv:

Dallas is a duplicate of Digger when it comes to meeting/greeting newbies... he's so very tolerant. He has improved with us so much...but he loves Don so much, I really don't encourage anyone viewing him for adoption. In my opinion, it would really take someone "special" for us to let Dallas or Patches go at this point. Patches is very tolerant as well, although somewhat cautious.

Little Bailey is only with us until she's adopted...she's very nice to the other cats, and simply adores Dallas... :luv2: it's like beyond cute to watch her follow him around... she's not spayed yet .. that little hussy.... :lmao: :lmao:

My girls get along well enough. They beat the crap out of each other every day, but they are usually just playing. ;) They don't cuddle a whole lot, but sometimes I will catch them in a snuggle.

Don't you just love watching them all balled up rolling and play fighting and all of the little mean expressions they make..ears back ect :lmao: :lmao:

Awww..Diggy :luv2:

Liz, I can just imagine Marley screaming like a girl :rotfl: Midnight will do that too even when Moly just walks by not even thinking about her......... :rotfl:

:lmao: It's so funny because Sasha will just walk by, not really paying any attention to him and Marley will puff up and growl. That's when Sasha takes notice and gets curious. :duh:

Milo & Lucky have gotten along since the day we brought her home. Cleaning each other, cuddling and fighting.
Milo & Georgie on the other hand rarely are in the same room...Milo gets kind of mean with her. :wha:
Georgie really doesn't like anyone too much...she's our loner. SHe'll play with Jake & Lucky as long as it's chase. :lmao:
Lucky and Jake get along like they should being a year apart...play, play, play and sleep.
Milo treats Jake exactly as he did Lucky when she was a kitten...I haven't seen and bathing action yet.
Lucky enjoys torturing Georgie at least a few time a week.
For the most part everyone lives in harmony here. :jump:

Georgie acts like that whenever someone plays rough with her. You'd think was being sliced in half the way she screams. Can you say drama queeen? :rotfl:

Well most of you know the situation at my house when it comes to my cats however.....
Lucifer gets along with everyone, that is he plays with both Colleen and I and Noah and Yayo.
Noah loves Lucifer but absolutely can't stand Yayo and is constantly hunting him down which is easy becasue Yayo is the older of the three and very scitish.

Yayo loves Lucifer like he is his son, tolerates him in a way that surprises me on more then one occasion, however he is terrified of Noah.

It is a nut house here especially when it comes to dinner time, I have to keep all three bowls really far away from the others because Lucifer growls and Yayo won't eat if Noah is too close!

Gotta love them though

:rotfl: That's what I have to do with Jake too.

I know many people are surprised by the fact that we have a lot of cats and there's really no issues.

Over all everyone gets along. Sure we have spats sometimes, but what family doesn't have "sibling rivalry" from time to time? Now Tao and Loki will pick on Annie every now and then. And Velvet's a drama queen, if she's in a corner and someone just walks by her she'll scream bloody murder like they are killing her. And sometimes Sterling will sit and STARE at her to make her scream. And Takoda will chase Ona when he knows she doesn't like it. But over all it's peaceful with no fighting.

Most of the kitties are cuddlers, so it's not unusual to see several kitties in a big kitty pile.

We have a few loners that prefer us over the other kitties, but still get along with the others.

And several kitties have their "buddies" they spend more time with.

But all in all we lucked out that everyone gets along. And the kitties have long sense gotten over getting upset at new kitties. Now they get excited when they see new kitties. :rotfl:

That's so great, JJ...but I think you can contribute that fact to a really good and caring Mom that they all have :luv1:user posted image

Really well, actually. But it's been a looong road. PJ is Scully's son, and Miko and Steph's brother, but he was adopted out at 12 weeks. He returned to us last April when his home situation didn't work out. They hated him. Big time.

It wasn't until this past October that we could start leaving him out unsupervised  And right before Christmas was the first time he spent all day with the girls, including meal times.

So for them to now eat together, sleep together, and play together is just wonderful :luv1: Steph and PJ get along the best (even exchanging kisses). Miko and PJ will play and snuggle, but she sometimes gets testy and gives him a good swat.

Scully isn't quite 100% happy with him :duh: But even when he chases her, it's good-natured. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body :)

Emma and Eugene are litter mates so they always got along, they use to be very close but Emma thinks she is a princess, everyone really needs to make an appointment to glance at her. ;) Jack got along with them the first day he came to live with us.
Jack sometimes chases Eugene, ( Baby Gene ) and baby Gene gives up real fast, he is kind of a wimp.
They are very calm thankfully, no fighting.

Molly and Lilly get along great. They are the perfect siblings. With other cats, they are nervous at first but with Scotts parents cat, they get along like rival siblings one min and brawling all over the place and the next min, best friends. :lmao:

Molly is the trouble maker when it comes to Sparky(Scotts parents cat). She has a tendency to bite necks!!!! and very rarely when she gets upset with Lilly, she will bite her neck too and kick her back paws.

Lisa - February 17, 2007 06:04 AM (GMT)
For the most part, mine get along great ... although sometimes Tabby will get hissy if she's not feeling well and Tucker wants to play-fight.

We had some serious problems at first-bad enough that I was going to have to find either Bella or the Sibs a new home. Bella stalked them mercilessly, and attacked them any time she could. But everything changed with the move. She isn't very aggressive anymore. She'll occasionally swipe at a passing cat, but that's about it.

Mimi used to be inhospitable and mean to the Sibs, too-kind of taking Bella's lead. But now Beau is up here on the coffee table grooming her all over and she's eating it up. She snuggles with and grooms Brudder, too.

Pup and Mimi and buddies. Brudder and Beau are buddies. Beau and Ossie are buddies. Ossie and Brudder get along, but they aren't as close as she and Beau. She and Beau are very tight-huddled up together all the time.

Bella is very much a loner. She's very insecure about other cats and lashes out every time she gets scared. She hangs out with WillyB a lot, and Brudder pretty frequently. They are the least aggressive, so they let her be.

Every now and then Beau will bow up at Bella and run her under a table or chair and get her cornered. He doesn't ever touch her-he just stares her down. If he looks at her for longer than a second, she goes all crazy, hissing and snorting. I'll say something to him or stick my foot between them, and he runs off, all happy acting. I swear, it seems like he's laughing.

Pup picks on Bella, too. I think she does it mostly because of Bella's reaction-screaming and throwing a hissy fit. I have to get on to Pup about once a day for picking on Bella or Ossie. She doesn't hurt them-she just likes to chase them and make them run and hide.

Ossie was pretty mean when she first came out from under the bed. She'd swat at Mimi if Mimi tried to smell her or got too close. I think she was just nervous and scared. She is much nicer now, and lets other cats smell her and get closer. She's turned into a pretty nice little cat.

It's so much better than it used to be, the occasional spats here and there don't faze me.user posted image

Our Boyz get along great but that's no big surprise since they're litter-mates and have been together their entire lives.

They like to cuddle together especially on our bed where we'll find all three of them in very close proximity to each other. All three of them used to play-fight each other on a regular basis but now it's more Sam who'll go after Merri and Pippin.

Over all the five of us get along very well

Keiko and Pixelle adore each other... Moogy learned to like them but it took time... :) she even lets Keiko cuddle her now... :luv1:

Tucker gets cranky at Billy at times.

Eddie gets pissy at Tommy.

Marty can't stand Tommy for some reason, and often screams and howls and growls and hisses when he goes near him. Sometimes, he's okay with him... but often - he's not. But it's nothing to worry about - if anything, it's amusing. :giggle:

Everyone else gets along fine. :)

My whole tribe gets along famously, as far as living in the same house. But, they are kind of clique'ish at times, having a couple of little distinct gangs that they hang out in. Turvy, Mischief, Etcetera, Blondie and Trace make up one clique, while Hobo, Sassy and Peanut make up the other. But, the cliques are not set in stone, they intermingle and mix groups alot. They have the little rough house fighting games, and sometimes it sounds actually vicious....then they stop and start cleaning each other ears :coocoo: :rotfl:

The funniest part of the day is feeding time, when everyone has to check everyone else's bowl to make sure that no one left any scraps. To see them all sauntering from one bowl to the other is just funny :)

Motley PRETENDS not to like Sparkle - if there's an audience she'll sit there looking down her nose at him and shooting him evil looks - but I know she's only pretending as when she thinks no-one's looking I'll catch her giving him nose-rubs and cuddling up to him!
They have their fights - but normally it's just a case of them playing and one of them goes that little bit too far.

Sparkle is too friendly for his own good sometimes, and will try to befriend anything with a pulse - be it human, cat, dog, alien..... So he'll get along with everything and everybody!

Eleanor tries to boss :rotfl:
Cindy and Skinny play together alot.
Thumper watches all the festivities from a far.
They all have their "moments" from time to time but 99% of the time they get along great.
We have been very lucky in blending as we add to the family.

All four of my kitties get along rather well. Munchie, the first cat of the crew, has always accepted any other cat that came in the house. He never hissed nor fought with them. Tooties, the second one, also accepted other cats. Now Poopsie thinks she is the queen bee of the house! When Willie came to join me, she hissed and batted at him all the time. But he has a non-aggressive side to him and basically ignored her. He did slap her a few times though! :D

Today it is basically Poopsie that likes to roughhouse. Her and Tooties are ALWAYS play-fighting! Poopsie likes to lay on the bed, in the hall, etc rather innocently. When other cats walk by, she likes to cuff them and try to start something! And it is more often than not Tooties she does that too. Sometimes they really get rough and I hear wailing and hissing. They have even woke me up at night when they did that on my bed! But for the most part, they all get along great. And 5 minutes after a rough scuffle, Poopsie and Tooties will be curled up next to each other like best friends! :kittyluv:

Now Munchie sometimes will like to mess with Poopsie! He will walk up to her and just start whacking her upside the head! It is so funny to watch!

For the most part my boyz get along. but Smudge is a big bully. He's always swatting at Midnight. Smudge is a big "copy cat." He has to do everything Middy does. In a way, I think he's jealous of him. ;) But when push comes to shove, Middy is always cuddling with Smudge and licking his fur. Middy loves Smudge so much, no matter what Smudge does he'll always give a second chance. :kittyluv: That's true kitty luv. :)
