Title: Product recommendation

A little while back, we had a thread asking what could possibly reduce the static shocks we give our kitties when we try and pet them. Some of you were saying the static was really bad, and every time you touch your cat(s), they get a jolt.
Well, there were a couple good suggestions in the thread... but I've found and been using another one. :)

Pro Pet Salon Detangling and Freshening Spray - For Cats
Extra-mild freshening formula contains aloe vera and unique coat conditioners to help detangle mats and tangles. Gentle enough for daily use. Baby powder fragrance. |
Click here for PetSmart product pageThe conditioners in the spray really do help reduce static from the coat! I was surprised. :) The thing is, because I use a spray bottle as a deterrant/warning when my boys do something wrong, they HATE spray bottles. So instead of spraying it directly on their coats, I spray it on the cat brush and use it that way. Another way I use it is by spraying a paper towel until it's damp - and then I wipe the fur down. Then, brush. I recommend it - it smells nice, helps their coats look nice, and it gets rid of static!

 I see that every time I go to the pet store and have wondered about it. I may have to check it out!

We'll have to try it as well. The Boyz get really staticy after a good brushing (except Sam who doesn't like to be brushed).

I'm going to have to pick some up. These poor cats (Ossie, especially) are tired of getting their noses zapped.
I bet Bella would love to smell pretty. Such a prissy girl.

Lisa - :giggle: Yes, Bella would love it. It's so funny, all my boys walking around smelling like baby powder. :giggle: But I tell ya - the stuff works!

I sometimes joke about tossing my cats in the dryer with a Bounce sheet (I'd never really do it, of course!). But actually, I found that if I intend to touch my cats and can sense that I'm carrying a bit of a charge, I touch something made of wood first (like a table or shelf). That seems to drain away the "zap" and I can safely touch my kitty.
