Joey was one of the sweetest, most gentle cats ever. :luv1: He had a HUGE heart. :) Friends of a friend found him wandering around outside on Halloween in 1991, and we got him on November 6th and kept him. He was a sweetheart. At first he meowed to be let outside, and he did this incessantly... but eventually he got used to being an indoor cat.
We used to bring him out for walks in the park, and he loved it. He didn't even mind the harness we put on him. He would park himself in the catnip bush and take it from there! :) He let all of our new kittens "nurse" on him, was a great buddy, and a most excellent companion. He was such a cuddle muffin!
Joey left us in October 2004 at approximately 15 years of age. He had cancer of the jaw - and was a trooper to the end. The vet said he must have been in some very serious pain, because his jaw was totally deteriorating and we never saw the signs until the very end. (drooling, keeping his mouth open) but he ate dry and wet cat food and treats just as he always did! Our vet said he was a very proud and brave cat, because he didn't show discomfort or anything in such a state. He didn't even meow or anything. He was happy as a clam, and such a sweet, sweet boy right up until the end. I miss you, Joey bear. :luv1:
