We really don't have as much as it seems. With africans you have to have a lot in the tank...so I have 34 in an 80g right now sold 10 and selling 10 more. I have 5 fancy plecos in the different tanks, 3 angels, 2 betta and that is it for me.
Ty has a piranha...a black rombeus...the largest species in the world. It's not big right now but he can be around 2 ft and 15 inches tall...they have to be kept alone in an aquarium.
We had to sell or trade most of the fish...like the oscars...they killed a $60 fish, an arrowana and they were only cheap. The fire mouth we had got evil. I am not a big fan of central or south american's big aggressive fish...they are more aggressive than any other type of fish except my angelfish which are from the same places as the piranha...in the wild that is...they all live in the same area. :coocoo:
The thing is with fish keeping...you can't get attached to certain fish....he may change and not fit in with your plans. Now I know why it's considered a hobby more than calling them pets. ;)

Really great looking cichlids. I was feeding a few mornings ago and noticed a bit of movement under a large rock. To my surprise, I found 2 tiny fry popping in and out of the formation. It seems I have one "Rusty" and one "Saulosi" I wasn't even aware that any of my females were holding. :

Thanks.
Very cool...I like the saulosi...I had a single male, but sold him so he could go be with some females. I have 2 holding yellow labs now...you can see the babies "eyes that swim" in their mouths. :luv2: Too cute.
