Title: What kind of human food does your kitty like?

Crystal - April 6, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
Obviously all kitties love our meat products...but our kitties have funny "human food" tastes...

All our kitties like ice cream (vanilla) and yogurt (strawberry-banana they like better than regular yogurt).

Tinkerbell really like cheese - she looooves Mac & Cheese. She also likes bread, fortune cookies, and cones - when I go to Cold Stone I always get my ice cream in a cone bowl and while I'm eating it she comes over and starts chewing on the bowl. :rotfl: I always end up breaking off pieces of it (and bread and fortune cookies) for her to eat.

Jazmine loves spaghetti sauce...she'll lick my plate clean if I'll let her. ;)

Nala looooves fries and potatoes. My sister and I got Wendy's the one day and we were eating here - Nala went over to smell her food and she let her smell a fry - and the little rat snapped out and grabbed it and ate it! She ate like 5 more after that, too! :rotfl:

There's probably more that I'm forgetting...I'll have to think a bit and come back.

What crazy foods do your kitties like?

Janice - April 6, 2007 11:08 AM (GMT)
Well, ya'll know Digger loves yogurt...any flavour, doesn't matter and I eat alot of yogurt with a tin of the whole madrin oranges... he loves the oranges too... :coocoo: :coocoo:

Pebbles love Hostess Cheesies, salt & vinigar chips (she really just licks all the cheese of the Cheesies and licks all the salt off the chips then just leaves them wet and soggy...

Smudgie loves cheese and chicken.

Silkie love ham and mashed potatoes w/butter.

lmw80 - April 6, 2007 12:45 PM (GMT)
Norman and Casey love lunch meat - I always give them some when making a sandwich. Cleo could care less about it, lol. Casey also likes cheese.

Rita - April 6, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
Our Boyz LOVE cheese ... whenever we pull it out of the fridge the come running and meowing :) The other day they were sleeping so I very quietly opened the fridge, took out the cheese (it's in a Tupperware container), grabbed a knife, quietly opened the container and started slicing off some cheese .... before I got through the first slice, Merri was wrapped around my ankles meowing for some :kittyluv: :)

And then there's tuna ... well as soon as we pull out the can opener all three of them come running :duh: It's pretty funny when we're opening a can of veggies and they think they're getting tuna :neener:

Motley likes anything spicy - the spicier the better! :rotfl:

I found this out when she was younger, and I got a really hot vindaloo just for the purpose of putting Motley off trying to steal my food off my plate.......

She loved it! It made her sneeze, but she came back for seconds! :lmao:

She's a strange cat......

Milk, of course and yogurt. Scotty actually really likes Dryer's strawberry fruit bars (made with bits of strawberries). There's no dairy in it at all, lol.

Oscar is afraid of bananas, so definitely not those. But he LOVES Kix. :coocoo: In fact, I've placed one piece of Kix on the floor between him and Scotty and watch him walk over, start eating and then start growling as he's eating! lol We're terrible. Oscar also likes Honey Wheat Pretzels. Not sure why...we tried to give him a small piece and he didn't eat it, but if we ever have one, he's on our lap reaching for it, trying to bite it.

Elizabeth - April 6, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
Jones & Sasha don't realy like people food. But Marley loves anything dairy! Milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, pudding... :duh:

msrealdoll - April 6, 2007 08:04 PM (GMT)
WillyB loves cheese. My ex was a cheese freak and he always shared with Willy. Any time we went in the fridge and got one of those singles out and rattled the wrapper, Willy would come running.

Pup loves creamy sweet stuff. Yogurt, ice cream, frosting, Cool Whip. I found out the other night she loves crab meat, but won't eat shrimp.user posted image

Mimi just loves ham. She will eat her weight in ham if we let her.

Bella loves beef. Hunks of rare steak are her favorite. She flips them around a bit and kills them first, then eats them. She also loves to lick the cheese flavoring off of Cheetos, Doritos and such.

Brudder likes anything that stays on the silverware. He loves to get on the dishwasher door and lick the food off of the dirty silverware.user posted image

*raises hand* self certified cheese freak here! Can't live without it :D As a kid I wouldn't eat anything unless is had cheese on top

Dylan likes cheese, plain pasta, yoghurts and ice cubes :P He doesn't get offered much human food - he just isn't interested so we rarely think about it... Does that make me a bad cat Mummy? ;)

Sky Eyes Woman - April 6, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
Anyone who knows me knows the Duder will eat ANYTHING, so the list of people food he won't eat is a lot shorter than a list of what he will eat!

Jennifer - April 7, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)
It looks like just about all the kitties on here like Cheese! :lmao: My Coco loves it as well. She can be picky about it though depending on which type she's in the mood for :rotfl: She also loves Tofu and just about anything else :lmao:
Hammie loves deli Turkey slices. That's the only people food he will eat.
The rest of them enjoy any type of meat and fish.
Cody and Heidi like tortillas and Caleb is big on bread. A lot of you know that Mady loves Lobster more then anything....she can eat a small one all by herself just about! :lmao:

:rotfl: I love how you said "they were sleeping so I very quietly opened the fridge, took out the cheese..." I know exactly what you mean, because Tucker is a MAJOR cheese freak, and EVERY TIME we go to fridge and take out the brick of cheese... as soon as he hears us unwrap the plastic - he comes RUNNING. He'll trip over his own feet just to get to the cheese. :lmao:

As for human foods... they all love hamburgers, lunch meat, sausages/hot dogs, ham, tuna, chicken, fish (haddock, halibut, etc.) and turkey.

Tucker loves sour cream and onion rings, Doritos, crackers, ice cream, cheese, pretzels, popcorn, and mushrooms.

Billy loves popsicles - especially grape ones. :coocoo: He also likes sunflower seeds and pistachios.

That's all I can think of right now. If I think of more, I'll come back and post. :)

Milo isn't much of a human food eater...but he does like his roasted ham, chicken or turkey tho. Oh yes he loves popsicles, freezies and slushies..except lemon-lime. :coocoo:

Georgie...is a human in disguise. She'll eat anything...goes nuts if you walk by the kitchen. She is a bad bum!

Lucky likes meat and that's it...she isn't too interested for the most part.

Jake...gosh I think he's another human is disguise too. Georgie has some competition who growls at her while eating all the time....not anyone else tho. :wha:

I can't have any breakfast without eyes all around me! I have to always fix extra and share my buttered toast with Buffy, then let Rocky have a chance to lick the toast crumbs off of the paper plate. If I have cereal, Buffy wants the milk and I have to hold her at bay with one arm periodically, then put the leftovers in a bowl when I'm done. If they hear the microwave, Baby sits on the floor and makes a steady whine and shows her small bottom teeth and fangs until I give up whatever I'm making. The smell of Cream of Wheat drives Herman, Buffy and Rocky wild. Oatmeal with brown sugar and milk is a fave of Buffy's. And crumbled Rice Chex is always to be kept on a paper plate for Rocky, Blue and Tula. I guess breakfast is an important meal around here! Think they're spoiled?

Jessica - April 8, 2007 07:24 AM (GMT)
Oh Connie, I definitely think they're spoiled. :giggle: :luv1: That's so cute!

Connie - April 9, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
Today, Buffy, my converted feral, converted to house cat, had to have carrot cake! She's broadening her palate! :kittyluv:

Misha doesn't like most people food, she does like yogurt and some of you may recall how Jeff and I found our by accident that she apparently likes white wine... (silly kitty) outside of Misha's dry food, she doesn't like much people or cat food. (Oh, yes, she also loves her cat treats!! )

earthspirit - April 16, 2007 05:56 AM (GMT)
Big Boy loves Kraft singles and cheese directly off of pizza (I think it's the sauce that he likes most, because he won't eat regular mozzarella cheese by itself) ... he's not a big people food eater, he sticks to his dry cat food. Oh! He also loves sour cream and onion potato chips.

Chloe hasn't really eaten much people food, she loves pears and mangos, and today she ate a piece of cheese and liked it. She also ate a piece of my sisters turkey from last Thanksgiving.

But if we want to talk about cats eating people food... my sisters two cats are the king and queen of it. Her cat Britney eats everything my sister does, directly off of her plate. Her cat Tyler helps himself to it as well. I think they eat more people food than cat food.

Britney eats: brownies, cottage cheese, yogurt, ice cream, granola bars, slim-fast bars, mac and cheese, pizza, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grilled cheeses, bananas, ranch dressing, croutons, and the list goes on and on... :lmao:

Tyler eats anything... including old bits of stuff off of the floor. Gross cat...

6cats4me - April 16, 2007 11:51 AM (GMT)
Jabber and Patches will eat anything. It doesn't matter what it
is, if I have a plate in hand, both of them will try to trip me
(they're all around my ankles and I have to step over them).
None of the others want human food, I may have seen Baby try
some chicken but not sure. The others will sniff and walk away.
They could care less about human food.

SunShine - April 16, 2007 01:36 PM (GMT)
Sun and Shine drink milk EVERY morning. Shine loves it, she would not start to eat dry food if she hadn't had some milk before.
They both love cheese. I give them a smaaaaaall scale of parmesan cheese sometimes. It's good because there's a lot of calcium, but it's also very bad, because of the salt!
Sun loves salami and stuff like that, he also like some yogurt and..... BEER (he's german!! ;) ).
They obviously love fish, and indeed, every time i prepare fish for myself, i add some spare pieces for the two furries.
