I noticed Mittens had not been eating well and she was very lathargic. Not really very concerned I took her to the Vet today first thing today. Well come to find out She probably had lukemia and She was just loaded with tumours the Doctor said. He said She had about a week or so and the best thing would be to let Her go. So....I did. :bawling: It just never crossed my mind that SHe wouldnt be coming home with me. My husband broke down each time one of our babies were put to sleep. But, even more so for his Monday kitty. They had a very special bond.

I get Mittens ashes saturday. I didnt even realize thats what I requested. I dont know what I will do with them? Maybe get a nice something to keep them in and then maybe find a nice spot to bury them. Or maybe keep someplace special??

You can ask your vet about local pet urns in your area. I know of two but there in California. When my Penny pasted, the vet did all the arrangements, and I have a beautiful wooden urn with Penny's ashes in them. As for where to place them, whereve you want them is perfectly fine. I was planning on putting Penny's in the backyard, but; have decided to put them in a quiety area of my home with a few photos of Penny and sometimes fresh flowers. It gives me comfort in knowing that she is still in my home. hope that helps... :hug:

I got my Mittens back today. It was harder than I thought. :( The pet memorial park did a really nice job. They put Her in a really nice wooden box with a lock on it. Also a card with the rainbow bridge written on it. Also the day She was cremated in memory of Mittens, a final act of Love. :(

One year ago today. :( The day after memorial, I lost my Mittens. I was planning on adopting a black kitten. I just couldnt. :( I still have Her ashes and still miss Her. :bawling:
