Title: I must have a neon sign... *pix added*
Description: New Rescue

TxnKats - June 1, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
Tonight David and I had to run to Wal-Mart for a few things. Well, as soon as I get out of the van I hear "meow, meow, meow, meow". Of course I had to look around. And sure enough there was a thin kitty walking towards me meowing his head off.

Me, being me, had to help him. I tried to get him to come to me. He'd come close, but kept his distance. Though he kept meowing at me and rubbing against the other cars.

I figured he was hungry, so I told him "Okay baby, you wait here and I'll go get you some can food".

I rushed through my shopping at Wal-Mart and grabbed him a smelly can of fishy cat food (smellier the better to entice him!).

I was so worried that by the time I got back out to the van he'd be gone. He just seemed to unhappy walking around the parking lot.

Well, I didn't have to worry because once we got back to the van he was waiting for us ON our van! I couldn't believe it.

Of course he did keep his distance until I opened the wet food and put a trail of it on the ground. As he was eating he let me pet him and once he was done I picked him up and got in the van with him. On the ride home he was a good boy and snuggled close to me.

I'd say he's around a year old, not neutered (we'll fix that ASAP), he's a Brown Mackerel DSH polydactyl (extra toes on all 4 feet). He's now in my downstairs bathroom. We gave him food, litter, water, a dose of revolution in case he has any fleas, etc. He's a very sweet boy, loving all over us. Right now we're calling him Dax.

Pictures coming soon.

Yep, I rescued Catcher around Wal-Mart too. This wal-mart is a good stretch away from any houses and sits on two very busy roads and a toll way, not a safe place for kitties!

Actually Dax looks SO much like Catcher, just with extra toes and a slightly broader head.

I think you smell like cat nip or kitty crack. ;) :rotfl:
Glad the little guy found you.

Not sure yet, I really, really should, but we'll see. It also depends on how his FIV/FeLV test comes out. I swear though, I'm nearly sure he's Catcher's littermate. They look SO much alike, just Dax has extra toes and a broader head with jowels starting! And, of course, I found them at the same area...and they are probably the same age, so who knows..he might just be Catcher's brother.

Here's a couple of pictures. They aren't great. Since he's in the bathroom there's crap lighting, so I have to use my flash. Plus when I'm in there he's too busy making sure I love on him to worry about getting his picture taken! :rotfl:

Here he is on my lap, purring and kneading away

The polydactyls totally get me... I have never seen one in the UK at all, but their boxing glove paws are just adorable! I love Dylans paws and would love to love on some poly ones... *sighs*

JJ, you are a star hunny! Thankfully I have never seen any strays. Many people in the city keep their cats indoors only :)
