Title: Keep the dish THERE

PJ Kitty - June 12, 2007 06:27 PM (GMT)
I've been having trouble with Yoshi always scooting his food dish around. He likes to play with his food still. It's not as bad as when he was a little guy, when his favorite thing to do was pounce in his food, but there's almost always a stray kibble in their water fountain. He also does this with the water fountain sometimes, which is more annoying, but also more rare. I've looked at some of the dishes available at pet stores, and even the ones that say non-skid, I can still slide around pretty easily. Does anyone know of any bowls with like suction cups or something??? Should I just get a really heavy glass dish? I always find the dish moved across the room and behind the door...

My two have a really heavy water bowl, but Sparkle still manages to slide it into the next room somehow..... :wha:

Superglue maybe? :rotfl:

Target sells these great metal bowls that have black rubber bottoms and they're heavy - they're in the cat section and in the dog section. I'd try those, they're hard to move.

I tried to find them on their website but I can't. I've seen them at a bunch of Targets and I think Petsmart might have them as well (not 100% sure on that one).

I had the same problem with Suzie.

I used a heavy bowl and put a rubber mat under all her bowls, and they all stay in place now!

My sisters cat Britney does the exact same thing, with the water bowl! I've lost track of how many times I didn't notice she moved it and accidently stepped in it. :lmao:

I don't have any other suggestions that haven't been already said. :)

I went to Lowes and bought a 9in x 9in piece of heavy glazed tile for $2. Then with Gorilla glue I cemented the water dish to the tile, put some self adhesive rubber feet on the bottom of the tile. No more tipping, no more sliding, still easy to clean. Very low cost too. Solved my issues.
