In addition to Patches coming around, Patches' sister, Sprinkles has been coming around, too. For awhile, it was just Patches and Sprinkles. For the past si orx seven days, Sprinkles has been bringing her kittens around. At first, it was four kitties-an all cream colored kitty, another cream kitty with black markings on his/her tail and ears, and two orange babies. They seem to be very comfortable in my garage. Sprinkles doesn't run away every time we go into the garage, but if we get too close, she'll run away. Her kittens are very skittish, though I think with the proper care and socialization, they could become great pets. Sprinkles could probably become a great pet, too.
I'd like to take them in myself, but we just don't have the room...especially since I'm still working on getting Patches in the house. There is a no-kill rescue group that I can call that could take Sprinkles and her babies, but they would only take the kittens if they're 10 weeks old. I'm not sure how old the kitties are, but I know that they're not 10 weeks. Does anyone know of any rescue groups that would take Sprinkles and her babies, regardless of the age of the kittens? I'm in Southern California. To be specific, I'm in Montclair, which is in San Bernardino County.
Also, how can I trap Sprinkles and her babies? If possible, I'd like to get them all at once. As I mentioned above, they've been hanging out in my garage, so I know I can set up a trap in the garage. I just don't want to scare off the other cats I've been feeding. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Shelters/rescue groups in your area can lend you a trap.
As for what to do - if I was in your position, I'd take care of them until they were 10 weeks and then turn them over to the group you've contacted so they can be taken care of if you're not able to.
