Title: Lilly keeps hiding

Lilly hasnt been acting herself lately. Everytime someone comes to the house, she hides. She was never like that before. Is she scared she is going to have to go on a plane again?? LOL... I feel bad because we have been limiting her on the bed because during the night she will run and jump on my tummy which isnt good.
Any suggestions why she started this hiding?

Maybe she isn't feeling well. I'd keep an eye her: eating & bathroom habits. Feel her tummy, make sure it's not swollen... OR she got spooked & hasn't gotten over it yet.
I am betting on being spooked.
Hope she is acting normal soon.

I'm having the same problem with Rosie - will be interesting to see your replies!

Its hard to feel her tummy because she is overweight and its like a droopy pouch. But she only hides when someone comes in the house. When we first moved here, she would hide under the blankets when someone came and now she hides under the bed. I just dont know why she gets scared. She was never like that. Maybe the plane rides did spook her and all the travelling they went through and shes scared someone will come and take her away lol.. I dont know

My Winston RIP was the same way...maybe she is just nervous by nature. Winston hide for 2 days under my bed because of the air show back in 1998. The planes flew too low in the city during practice that year. BOY was it LOUD!

^ I agree. It could just be her nature. Jazmine is always very cautious and runs and hides when someone comes in until I go and soothe her and then she'll venture out. Trixie's picked up on it and does the same. Trixie wasn't like that for a while but then changed - I don't know if it's Jazmine's influence or something with her personality that changed.

I would watch her and make sure nothing else changes - but maybe she's just like that.

Hard to explain these things sometimes, perhaps a physical at the vet is in order to rule out any physical conditions. Beyond that....could just be one of those unexplained cat behaviors that can pop up anytime
