Title: Please keep your fingers and paws crossed...

We have to take Mickey to the vet tomorrow morning at 9:30. :(
We THINK he's got an infected gum. Some of you may remember 2 years ago, we had to have one of his bottom fangs yanked out because it decided one day, it wanted to break off. We couldn't afford to have it surgically removed ($700!) at the time, and since then, he's NEVER been bothered by it... so we just bought our time.
Well, yesterday I noticed him drooling a little bit, and having trouble eating. Plus he was very sensitive about the area where that tooth was. Crying and sorta shaking his head a bit - as if it hurt him. Plus, every time I go near that bottom lip area... he meows and pulls away. :(
So, we're taking him in to have it looked at. Please keep your fingers crossed that it's just an infection and he comes back home with us and a bottle of antibiotics. We already thought we lost him 2 weeks ago Sunday night to something totally unrelated. Ugh!
Thanks everyone! :)

Well, one of his upper fangs is loose and going to fall out any time now. He is going to be okay!!! We got some antibiotics (antirobe caps 25 mg) and are going to try and keep him away from hard foods for a little while. I'm SO relieved. I feel bad because until the tooth falls out, it's going to bother him but at least the infection will be cleared up! They didn't want to yank it... they said that in 2 weeks when we go back, if it hasn't fallen out (but it probably will) they'll do so.
He was SUPER at the vet, too. I mean, he meowed and told everyone off but he ended up coming out of the carrier himself AND was just a good boy overall. :luv1:
