Have you ever had to take your cat(s) to the emergency vet?

Wow, depsressing QODs Mel! Unfortunately the couple of times I've had to take a kitty to the ER Vet there was nothing that could be done and I lost a baby. First time was New Year's Eve 2000. Lost my sweet little Poe-Bug from a liver shunt.

Yes, when Eddie bit the tip of his tail to the bone. We called at 9:30 p.m. and our vet was babysitting, and she STILL went in to the office to meet with us and Eddie. He had to have emergency surgery to remove his tail.

Yes, Motley a couple of years ago when she got ill over the holiday weekend and deteriorated really quickly.

They said it was probably her liver, and I was so upset when I got home without her that I bought a bottle of wine so I could abuse my OWN liver in sympathy!

After many tests the vet diagnosed hepatitis - and after a week at the vets on IV fluids and a course of steroids and antibiotics, she's now the picture of health again! :)
