Title: Cat Litter Deodorizer
Crystal - February 16, 2009 06:52 PM (GMT)
The other day my sister and I were at the pet store just browsing and I ended up picking up a box of
Arm & Hammer Cat Litter Deodorizer with Baking Soda. I tried it today and I'm liking it.
We normally get about 3-4 days out of our boxes, and the last day you can smell the box even though it really doesn't need to be swapped with new litter yet. Plus my dad is now here daily, and he doesn't have animals, and he's stupid about the poo smell (even though I scoop and flush as soon as they let one loose, he's complained of the after-smell.
Anyone else use something like this? I figure baking soda works on everything else, why not try it....and I'm liking it so far.

We used to! And a Tidy Cats kind. We liked both. I really need to get more since hubby likes to put off scooping.

I've started using ours after every scoop - just a nice little sprinkle. It adds a burst of freshness to the box.
lol, I sound like a commercial.

Our kitties are on a little bit cheaper food, so you can certainly tell when they drop the bomb. :ack: I've gotta get some!!

:rotfl: Our kitties are on nice diets but Peanut out-stinks all the other cats, even though she's only about 5 months old.
And my husband has the same issue as yours...we should start a club. I'm sure there'd be many members. :lmao:

The Arm & Hammer powder is good stuff

I used to use it and found it worked very well. However, the litter I use, Fresh Step Scoopable with Dual Action Crystals, has done extremely well with odor control. And because of that, I have not had a need to use the arm and hammer product. But when I used to use the cheaper scoopable litters, the arm and hammer product worked wonderfully.

We use the Fresh Step Crystals, which smell great. It's nice to have that burst of freshness, though.
lol, if I used sand or clay litter, I imagine I'd be using this stuff a lot more - I have a sensitive nose.

I love that stuff, and it does keep it smelling fresher. Especially when in small rooms.

I bought it from Pet Supplies Plus for $3.99 - well just found it at a discount store for $2.15! Awesome!

I now get the A& H stuff you sprinkle in the litter from our Dollarstore. It's cheaper and works well with with Maxx litter

Yep, I like the A&H deodorizer. Its pretty good. Haven't bought it in a while though, just kept forgetting when I was at the store.
My husband is bad for scooping too! He promised that he would do it everyday. This morning I scooped it and I know he didn't do it for at LEAST two days! :pullhair:
