Title: Bathing the kittens
Description: Is it too soon?

As any of us who has handraised newborn kittens will say, they do get dirty when the others rub on them and subsequently urinate on each other. Well, they do get cleaned either with a wet washcloth or by dunking them in a bowl of warm water. Now I dunk them in warm water and rub them, but I think that water alone is not enough now. I do have some cat and kitten shampoo (plain shampoo, not a flea shampoo nor a skin condition shampoo) but is it too soon to use it lightly on the kittens, especially the ones with white, to clean them up? If it is too soon, at what age is a good time to start bathing them with shampoo?

I think you can use something like Johnson's Baby Shampoo, but I'm not 100% sure and I'm not finding anything online. Hopefully JJ will be along soon to answer!

I know we used Dove dish soap when Tink was about 2 weeks old - it helped to suffocate the fleas she had on her. That worked just fine and she smelled great!

You can use baby shampoo or dish washing soap without fragrence, etc. Heck, I've even used human shampoo when in desperate need!
