Title: The time has come

Allie - September 8, 2009 12:30 AM (GMT)
for me to let go of my precious Milo. :sosad:
He was crazy today. Howling at me, Ty and my Dad from the balcony. He wanted to get out of the balcony door sooo bad, he nearly jumped of it once. We were giving my parents a dresser to take to the cottage. He wouldn't listen to anyone who told him no...and he always did before.
He doesn't want anyone, not even me near him. :sosad: He smells like nasty fish water full of ammonia :yuck: He was like a crazy old man. Jake has been sitting with him on top of the ET unit for most of the evening. The craziness lasted from 9am til about supper time...then he went to sleep meatloaf style. He has calmed down since we gave him his fluids earlier.
Wednesday will probably be the day...if this keeps up. I cannot put the rest of us thru the tension anymore. The other 3 felines are acting weird too. Lucky has been hiding all day. Georgie has been staring at Milo looking sad (if that is possible).
When I said I'd know the time to put him down...I know. he isn't enjoying life anymore especially the past week. Fluids twice and he was dehydrated today...he skin was so loose. :( His skin seems better now tho.
I cannot put him and us thru anymore of this. So I have to make this horrible decision for what is best for him and not me. I mean this cat use to sleep with me everyday for 8 years. The past 6 months he hasn't hardly been in the bedroom at all. :loco:
Anyhow...I am feeling so lost and sad. But dealing with it without freaking out. Bawling a bit here and there, but no anxiety at all. So I guess that is a bonus.
Just tho I'd let you all know what's up with me and my boy.

Here is how my boy is looking as of last night/yesterday. You can see the time in the shots. He hardly moved from the ET unit since we gave him fluid around 3pm yesterday. :(

:( I'm so sorry.

How sweet the picture of him and Jake is. What a good kitty. :kittyluv:

You'd know better than anyone...and I'm glad if it has to happen, you've found some peace. You're doing what's best for him, and that's all he could ever ask.

Good luck to you these next few days.

Thanks guys. I just look at it this way: if I was him I wouldn't want to be around if I was in his position. It's my responsibility to take care of my cats the best I can. When I can feel his pain or discomfort it's not fair for anyone. All 6 of us are suffering, it's not right.
I mean I just lost my aunt to cancer in May, so my priorities have changed. We cannot afford to take him to the vet for every little thing, even if we could I am not sure in his condition it would be a good idea.
Life is too short to be uncomfortable and unhappy.

:comfort: I'm sorry Allie.

Oh Allie...I'm so sorry. I know that you've done everything that you can for your baby, Milo. And you know that he knows it. I hope that I'll be as strong as you if I ever face something like this with my Star.

  :bawling:   :( :sorrow:

Allie - September 9, 2009 11:23 AM (GMT)
 Thanks guys. He really isn't himself. He won't look at me or let me touch him, which is killing me. BUT it is the right thing to do.
Tonight "the" appointment is at 7:20 and he will be at peace & so will the rest of us. :(

 I'm so sorry. I'll be thinking about you, have been all night. :(

I am feeling so odd. I know something is going to set me off...but I'll be ok. Ty is pretty upset too. I had to wake him up from a 5 hour sleep to get him to walk to the vet with me. God I am so glad there is a vet two minutes away. The vet was so sincere.
Poor boy was in distress big time.
