She wasn't meant to be on earth for a long time, but the time that she has spent with us, will always be in our hearts. :(

I am upset, but today when I found out that she was suffering throughout her whole life because of her hip, I said to myself that she doesn't have to live through anymore pain... I enjoyed the time that she was with us, and no cat will ever take her place... :lilangel:

Cats can never be replaced by other cats. Every cat is a unique experience.
Dixie had a short life (I think...) but she was deeply and truly loved, and this is the greatest gift we can give our pets...

I might not get another cat for a while... It's gonna be hard getting used to not getting awoken at 3 am by a cat rubbing against your face, and asking you to pet her... But I'll keep posting here... And when I do get the new cat, I might need help thinking of names... :rolleyes:

I know what you mean David. Merri wakes me up every morning around 2:30-3:00ish looking for breakfast.
Take your time. When you feel the time is right for another cat, you'll know it and please remember you will not be replacing Dixie.
