Guys, this is so beyond a worthy petition to sign. 8.gif

However, ... just for your info, a little while ago I was told that "on-line petitions" are not "legally" acceptable because they are not "true written signatures". I did some research into this, and found that that is basically true. They bring awesome awareness to the cause, but unfortunately they are not deemed "binding" because anyone could sign multiply fictitious names to an on-line petition.

Yeah, I hear you, Janice...but at least if it bring some awareness it will make even that much difference.
This paticular petition you can not sign over and over. I did it by accident thinking mine didn't go through and it would not allow it.

I really wish they would allow on-line petitions. There are ton's of ways to safe-guard against fraudulent names etc... it would be so awesome!! As you say, it brings to the forefront the need for the cause and awareness!! 8.gif

Whatever happened to digital signatures? We were supposed to be able to 'sign' something electronically to prevent this kind of problem. It would certainly cut down on the paper being used.

I read that senators and other government officials don't read the e-mails you send, they just delete them. I don't think that's true, though, because every time I send one I get a response.

They need to do everything they possibly can electronically to cut down on the paper waste.
