Well I am sure some of you remember Lola's antics from the last time Rob was away. Rob left yesterday and Lola wasted no time reverting to those ways! It was like a light switch.

I climbed into bed around 1130 last night and she started with hopping up on the bed. She knows she isn't allowed on the bed. She jumped up by my feet and I shooed her away. Then she jumped up by my head, and I shooed her away again. Then she started clawing the bottom of our BRAND NEW mattress and I shooed her away. THEN she started digging at a box that was on the floor. Then I yelled at her. So she ran away into the bathroom (next to the bedroom) and started knocking stuff off the counter in there.

At this point I put her in time out. I went back to bed and tried to sleep. But of course, after a while, I feel bad because she absolutely hates being in her cat carrier. At about 1am, I let her back out. This time she scoots under the bed and starts dragging herself along the bottom of the box spring by her claws like a maniac! By now Abbey is pretty mellow and sleeping contently on her cat bed in the room, so I figure its safe to lock Lola out of the room without being in time out and just leave Abbey in.

Then I get to sleep for a couple hours. But then Abbey starts. Now she wants out of the bedroom. So she scratches at the door (do any of you remember the photo I took of her destruction??). I let her out and put a cat bed in front of the door and then climb back into bed. A little while later, she wants back in. So starts scratching again. So I let her in. But she doesn't want to sleep now, now she wants to play. So she starts picking at the side of the NEW mattress.

So now it is Abbeys turn for timeout. And I leave Lola locked out as well. But again, I eventually start to feel bad that Abbey is in her carrier and have to get up and let her out.

The problem is basically this: When Lola is in, she irritates and harrasses me until I get out of bed. When she is out, she doesn't bother with attempting to ge my attention. She won't even pick at the door. HOWEVER, as soon as that door is closed, regardless of which side she is on, ABBEY starts with the shenanigans. I don't think I can do this every night for the next six weeks!

Holy crap! 33.gif

That's so weird they only do it when he's gone...I wonder why.

Lola was better last night. She didn't bug me until 730am at which point she went into time out until I got up at 9. Abbey was a star all night.

I'm not sure what was different about last night. But I am hoping after being in time out once again that maybe tonight she won't bug me at all.
